Shell is a regular guest teacher for one of her teachers, Jonathan Foust, at his Monday night class at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, VA – a weekly gathering of about 200-250 people.
The class is held from 7:30-8:45 p.m., and includes a half-hour of guided Vipassana (Insight) meditation, followed by a 45-minute dharma talk. Afterward, there is informal time with tea and cookies for those who would like to mingle with like-minded community.
No registration is necessary. This class is offered freely, and is open to drop-ins. Chairs are always provided or you may bring your sitting gear.
Stay tuned for 2018 teaching dates!
“Two qualities emerge when you start to slow down and pay attention through meditation: wisdom and compassion. Shell embodies both. Her caring presence and sense of humor make time with her a wonderful, engaging experience.” ~ Jonathan Foust, Guiding Teacher with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, D.C., founder of the Meditation Teacher Training Institute of Washington, and former president of Kripala Center for Yoga and Health
